I bought four and all worked fine right out of the box. Id give 5 stars except the night light is a waste - very dim, useless to the point of wasting electricity (cant imagine it uses much, though). My cost for four of these was less than the cost of just two similar items at Target.
Worked Perfectly During Recent Storm

These lights provided necessary light when our power went out during a recent ice storm. We have one on each floor. Definitely recommend it for anyone who might experience a power outage.
Handy emergency light

This is a great emergency light. It is always handy because you plug it into a wall outlet where it remains until a power outage occurs. In a power outage, the light automatically turns from "night light" orange to "white light" brightness. You can then remove it from the wall, if you choose, and it will light your way around the house but it is definitely not a flashlight and will not last as long as a flashlight. The plug on the front allows you to use the outlet while the light is in the outlet and is a nice convenience. If you have enough of them, you can leave them in the wall outlets and your walking areas will not be totally dark in an emergency. Under non-emergency conditions, this item acts as a night light.

I have four of these that are over five years old.
Lost power last night for over 45 minutes, all four worked
Fine, and none of them showed any sign of getting any dimmer after 45 minutes.Item Rocks.

Bought this item because I was looking for an inexpensive night light/emergency light.
This product does fill this requirement,however:
As noted by other reviewers,the night light is very dim.
Also,I have tried to remove the lens cover to see how easy it would be to remove the bulb.Could not do that on any of these units.
Sent an email to the manufacturer,and they said push on the lens and twist.
I applied quite a bit of force on all three.Nothing.
Also,it would have been a bit better had they included a light sensor in this unit,but I knew it was not included.
